Right guys, I am not by any means a 'Tech Head' so if you are looking for all the technical ins and outs then i'm afraid this is not the review for you but I can offer an honest no jargon review for those of you who want to know about the laptop but have no idea about the really technical stuff!
There is no doubt that this is truly a beautiful laptop- stylish, light and comes in 3 stunning colours. Red, blue & silver. It is a great 15.6inch laptop and the screen quality is brilliant and clear. The size makes it very good whether watching a film, writing your memoirs, playing games or simply browsing the web.
The laptop is very easy to set up, usable almost immediately.
It has a spacious and QWERTY keyboard and has a separate numeric keypad on the right hand side - all the keys are smooth allowing your fingers to glide over them which makes it very easy to touch type.
The touch-pad mouse is completely integrated within the design of the laptop and unlike some of its competitors the Lenovo G580 does not obviously stand out however it does have tiny raised bumps helping you to locate it. it also has a quick scroll on the side. The mouse buttons are fairly long meaning that these too are easy to use.
The packaging is very practical as it has a handle on the box making it easy to carry when bringing it home from the shop. Lenovo keep it simple with this product and seems only to use necessary packaging.
The Lenovo G580 has two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port which is very handy; especially when transferring files between memory sticks. It also has a HDMI port meaning that with a HDMI lead the laptop can be connected to a bigger screen or even a TV which is great for watching home videos run straight off the laptop or even playing games on. It has a SD card slot which means you can transfer you photographs or videos off of a digital camera, video camera or other mobile devices onto the laptop. It has a re-write compatible disc drive which always comes in handy!!!
This wonderful laptop also comes with a built in smart fan, noise control; whilst on the subject of noise we certainly cannot leave out the fact that this laptop has built in bass which is excellent when listening to your favorite songs.
There cannot be any argument against the fact that one of the main selling points of this modal is the memory. It has a 6gb ram and 1tb hard drive which means that you can store a staggering 280,000 digital photos or even 120 hours of HD video. The amount of memory on this laptop also means that it is a very fast running laptop.
It has Lenovo DirectShare built in which means that you can synchronize your files with a different laptop and which makes this even better is that you don't even have to be connected to the internet to do so!
The charger is surprisingly compact and light weight making it easy to transport when travelling. The Lenovo G580 holds it charge for around 5 hours once fully charged meaning you can use your laptop wherever you are.
This model comes with Windows 8 which is actually very easy to use once you have had a play! It has a unique windows store enabling you to download various games and programs which will be displayed on the ModernUI which is very similar to the Xbox screen. When first using it you will wonder where certain typical Windows programs have gone such as the Windows Media player or Windows movie maker and you would be right to question this as they are not there. This is because with Windows 8 it gives you the option whether to have such programs or not. If you decide that they are programs that you want you can simply download them from the store.
As far as security goes like any other laptop you can password lock the laptop but what makes this particular laptop different is that you can use the built-in webcam to get a face recognition lock meaning that unlike a password that others may be able to guess they cannot access your laptop as it will require your face to unlock it.
This is a great laptop and comes at a reasonable price. You can pick up this great piece of technology from places such as Curry's for around the £329.99 price mark.
